There Are Four Types Of Drinker According To Scientists - Which One Are You?

Researchers at the Michigan State University have been working on a way to categorise the different types of drinker that exist in the world.

And no, we don't mean 'the prosecco drinker who loves a brunch', or 'the G&T at 7pm kind of drinker', we mean the way in which you drink and taste wine - and what your typical preferences may be.

These, they call: vinotypes. Fancy.

The Independent reports that there are four main categories of vinotypes: the sweet, the hypersensitive, the sensitive and the tolerant.

Which one are you? Read the descriptions to find out.

Sweet: if you're picky about what wine you're drinking and tend to prefer something that is light, sweet and not too full or flavoursome. You probably really like soda.

Hypersensitive: you're relatively picky about your wine but are sometimes open to trying something new if it sounds straight-forward. Most likely to complain about TV volume and room temperature, apparently.

Sensitive: you're as free-spirited with your wine as you are in life - adventurous and flexible.

Tolerant: these decisive drinkers like their wine full-bodied and bursting with flavour. Likely to enjoy strong cheese and coffee, too.

So the next time you look at a wine menu, think if any of the above applies to you, and help it inform your choice of booze!
