Imagine an extravagant party held in over 120 cities all over the world all on the same night. Well, that’s exactly what will be happening next Saturday 29 June when The Global Party brings together VIPs, celebrities, jetsetters and high-rollers at a line-up of glamorous events.

The good news is that Cape Town is one of those featured cities. And the chosen venue? The ever-chic Shimmy Beach Club. Shimmy joins an elite list of global nightspots including Nikki Beach in Marrakech, Paris’s Ozu Club and The Savoy, London.

The party links luxury with philanthropy and presents itself as an opportunity to raise funds for children’s causes staged in the most sumptuous venues. Among the beneficiaries of the Cape Town event are Wola Nani’s programme for orphans and vulnerable children in the AIDS crisis and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.

There will be an auction on the night with everything from stays at some of the world’s top hotels to tickets for the premiere of the Nelson Mandela biopic ‘Long Walk to Freedom’ on offer. There’s even some signed Justin Bieber memorabilia!

The evening includes a champagne reception, a three course dinner and after party with top DJs. South African singer Lira has been confirmed as the headline act.

The theme for the night is Diamonds are Forever so dress to the nines.

ELLE and the Global Party are giving away 20 double tickets for you and your partner to attend the event!

The tickets include:

*Entry to the Black Tie Cocktail reception (champagne and canapés included)

*Live entertainment with South African songstress Lira projected on AV screens around Shimmy Beach Club

*Free entrance to the After Party (valued at R250) with a R300 voucher for drinks and live entertainment from Arno Carstens, DJ Classy Menace and DJ West.
