Mariah Carey Is Set To Join Forces With Jay Z's Roc Nation

And it wouldn’t be the first time the entertainment giants team up

It’s been a bumpy 12-month ride for Mariah Carey, what with her docuseries, Mariah’s World, not getting the green light for a second season, that totally questionable New Year’s Eve performance that ended halfway, the James Packer engagement debacle, her whirlwind romance with dancer-turned-manager Bryan Tanaka, and the firing of her in-your-face manager, Stella Bulochnikov… Yes, it’s time to clean up shop.

So it’s fitting that the 47-year-old Grammy winner is relooking her circle and career. And according to the New York Post, the New York native is said to be signing with Jay Z’s Roc Nation. Mariah Carey, LA Reid, Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri during Mariah Carey Celebrates the Release of Her Album "The Emancipation of Mimi" and its Debut at #1 at Cipriani in New York City.

The entertainment company, founded in 2008, has a host of major league names on its books including Rihanna, DJ Khaled, J.Cole, Big Sean, Tiwa Savage and, naturally, founder, Jay Z, with whom Carey has a history, circa 1999 and that infectious chart-topping hit, Heartbreaker, to which he brought his A-game rhyming skills to the fore. And there is also that little recommendation Carey gave former Def Jam CEO, L.A. Reid in 2004 when he was searching for a successor and asked Carey for advice… ‘Hire Jigga!’ she said, Reid did just that, and Jay Z served as boss for four years.
