Shades of lilac, lavender and the like are everywhere
The Pantone colour of the year is Greenery, but you'd never know that by all the purple appearing on runways this week.
Shades of lilac, lavender and the like are to London Fashion Week's AW17 season what variations of pink were to spring/summer, everywhere. In terms of meaning, the colour is most often used to communicate royalty, power, wealth and upward mobility.
It's also meant to calm the mind and convey spirituality. Do with that information what you will.
Purple has historically been best left to small doses in an outfit. It's a difficult colour to pull off as a full look. And yet, the week has offered so many convincing proposals for doing exactly that.
