What is the core business value that you initiate in ensuring that your business runs successfully?

I am an academic at heart and my approach toward business always comes with an academic and scientific undertone. Networking plays an incredibly valuable role in our daily business practice and if you want to build a large and successful business, you cannot do it alone. The amount of collaboration and connections that can be gained by a large but close network is vital and invaluable.

Can you reflect on your social conscience pertaining to women empowerment in South Africa?

Biomedical Emporium has a 95% female work force and 80% of our services we provide targets woman. I am proud to say that every female that works or has ever worked for Biomedical Emporium has managed to grow emotionally and intellectually as it is so crucial for us to place emphasis on the strengths to show these formidable woman what heights they can reach.

Why are the women of today interested in the health and well-being of their skin and what is the biggest trend in aesthetic care at the moment?

Our skin is a very “public” organ and the optimal health and radiance of it has a direct impact on our self-confidence and social esteem. Women today are more informed and aware of the effects that our external environment has on our skin and general well-being. There is a very close link between your general well-being, health and what is reflected on your skin. A variety of treatments are available but the treatments that are currently trending include Chemical Peels, Micro-needling, Plasma Skin Tightening and of course the very popular “Vampire Facial”.

What does the concept of lifelong learning mean to you?

I am far too restless to be satisfied with one achievement and I continuously conduct research in various fields. There are constant changes and adaptations in the industry today and it is critical to stay on top of the challenges and influences to ensure the best quality products and treatments are delivered to our consumers. I believe in the saying  “knowledge is power” as I would not have been such a successful entrepreneur if it was not for my academic background. My education was and still is my best form of investment in not only my life, but also the lives that I manage to have an influence on.

What are your three golden rules for career resilience?

Passion, commitment and perseverance are key factors to ensure career resilience.
