Celebrating a year of good, bad and what-the-hell fashion moments from this year, the Fashion Awards recognise the fashion talent both in the U.K and internationally. In a ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall, design veterans and newcomers-to-watch were celebrated.
Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga won Accessories Designer of the Year, with Alessandro Michele for Gucci, Jonathan Anderson for LOEWE, Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior and Miuccia Prada for Prada in runner up.
Another notch up in the continual rise of Gucci, Brand of The Year was awarded to Gucci. Balenciaga, Burberry, Off-White and Prada just missed out on this. The Business Leader Prize was awarded to Marco Bizarre for Gucci, with Jonathan Akeroyd for Versace and Marco Gobbetti for Burberry included in the runners up.
The year of Clare Weight Keller culminated in her winning British Designer of the Year for Womenswear. The awarded was presented to her by Meghan Markle, who sported a gorgeous black gown showing her baby bump, and dark nail polish, breaking a royal rule. Others in this category were Jonathan Anderson for JW Anderson, Roksanda Ilinčić for ROKSANDA, Simone Rocha for Simone Rocha and Victoria Beckham for VICTORIA BECKHAM.
Model of the Year went to Kaia Gerber, who was dressed in Alexander McQueen. Other nominees included Adut Akech, Adwoa Aboah, Bella Hadid and Winnie Harlow.
Industry vets were recognised with Miuccia Prada awarded for Outstanding Achievement and Vivienne Westwood with The Swarovski Award for Positive Change.
