Beyoncé is making sure that girls really do run the world. The superstar has joined forces with Gucci to launch their new campaign promoting female empowerment charity, Chime for Change. Gucci’s new movement will focus on three main pillars: education, health and justice.

Along with actress Salma Hayeck, Beyoncé will launch the global campaign by raising money and awareness for girls’ and women’s empowerment by sharing ‘powerful stories’ from females around the world.

'I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women,’ said Beyoncé in the official press release ‘Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be. It's up to us to change the statistics for women around the world. I'm honoured to be in the company of women who live fearlessly and set an example for the next generation of young ladies.’

In addition to fronting the campaign, Beyoncé and Salma will be produce 10 short films that tell inspirational stories about females around the world.

Salma Hayeck says, ‘I am proud to be joining the growing international movement on behalf of girls and women around the world. I believe that by working together we can change the course of history to ensure that girls and women are empowered to realise their potential and thrive.’

Other famous women like Jada Pinkett Smith, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts will serve on Gucci’s Chime for Change advisory board.
